"Outsiders Day" - Friday, February 14th

Friday, February 14th, will be "Outsiders Day".  It will be our culminating activity for the novel that we've been reading.  Students are encouraged to dress as a "Soc" or as a "Greaser".  Here are some suggested ideas.  This will be a fun activity on the last day before vacation!  

Mark Your Calendars - Thursday, March 11th

Mark your calendars!  On Wednesday, March 11th, Fraser and Carnegie Clans will have a "Show What You Know Night".  The focus will be the studying of countries and cultures.  This will be a cross-curricular activity and students are expected to be present that night to show off their work and answer any questions that parents/guardians may have.  The time frame will be 4:00 - 7:00.  More details will be given at a later date!

NWEA Testing - Tuesday, Jan. 14th & Thursday, Jan. 16th

NWEA Testing will be on Tuesday, Jan. 14th and Thursday, Jan. 16th.  It's important that students come to school with their laptops fully charged and with a silent reading book.

 Registration forms for the 8th grade Philly trip are due on the morning of January 23rd. 

Hat Day - Friday - Benefit the Oates Family

Student Council will be holding a “Hat Day” this Friday, to benefit the Oates family who recently lost their son, Owen, a student at Edna Libby School, and Owen’s dad, Vinny.  If students pay a dollar, they get to wear a hat in school all day. Anyone wishing to donate more, may do so. Anyone who donates a check should make it payable to “BEMS” (one final check will be cut from this account). Let’s work together to help this family out! BE Proud!

Wanted - Gently Used Sneakers!!

BEMS's "Scot Closet" is in need of gently used sneakers, particularly boys' sneakers.  The sneakers can be in regular boys' sizes (that would fit 6th-8th graders) and also men sizes.
